How Legacy Ventures collects, uses, and protects personal information. Last updated August 2026.
Legacy Ventures Ltd ("Legacy Ventures", "we", "us") designs and delivers international immersion programmes and experiential learning for universities and organisations. We are a company registered in England and Wales (company number 05810726) and are the data controller for the personal information described in this policy. You can contact us at enquiries@legacy-ventures.com.
We collect information you give us directly: your name, role, institution or organisation, email address, and telephone number when you make an enquiry or work with us on a programme. When we deliver a programme, we collect the participant information needed to run it safely and well, which can include travel document details, dietary requirements, accessibility needs, and emergency contact details. Where this includes special category data, such as health or dietary information reflecting religious observance, we collect only what is needed for safe programme delivery and handle it with additional care.
Our website does not require an account and does not itself collect personal information unless you choose to submit an enquiry form or email us.
We use personal information to respond to enquiries, to design and deliver programmes, to meet our duty of care to participants while travelling, to manage our relationships with partner institutions, to meet legal and insurance obligations, and, where appropriate, to keep in contact with professional counterparts about our services. We do not sell personal information.
We rely on the performance of a contract for programme delivery, legitimate interests for business-to-business relationship management and enquiries, legal obligation where laws require us to hold information, and consent where we ask for it, including for special category data collected for participant welfare, which you may withdraw at any time.
Delivering international programmes means sharing relevant participant information with the suppliers who make each programme run: hotels, airlines and ground transport providers, venues, local delivery partners, and insurers. We share only what each party needs. Because our programmes operate worldwide, this can involve transferring information outside the UK; where we do so, we take steps to ensure it is protected in line with UK data protection law.
Visiting this website causes your browser to request content from two third parties. Google Fonts serves the typeface the site is set in, and Unsplash serves some of the photography. Each of those requests reveals your IP address, the page you are viewing, and basic details about your browser to that provider, and may involve a transfer outside the UK. We receive none of that information ourselves, and their handling of it is governed by their own privacy policies.
We set no advertising or tracking cookies of our own and run no analytics on this site. If that changes we will update this policy and, where required, ask for your consent first.
We keep enquiry information for as long as is needed to manage the relationship. Programme records are retained for as long as required to meet legal, insurance, and accounting obligations, after which they are deleted or anonymised.
You have the right to ask for access to your personal information, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to or restrict our use of it, and to data portability. To exercise any of these rights, contact enquiries@legacy-ventures.com. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
We hold personal information securely, limit access to those who need it, and require the suppliers we work with to protect the information we share with them.
We review this policy periodically and will publish any updates on this page.
